This family friendly campground, owned and operated by Vernis and Elaine, offers 33 campsites, some with full hook-ups and is just one-quarter mile from the North entrance of the Ichetucknee River State Park. The campground is clean and well-shaded.

The campground has 14 air-conditioned and heated one-room cabins. The cabins do not have kitchens or bathrooms but have porches with swings, fire rings, picnic tables and an outdoor grills. The bathhouse is centrally located and is old, but clean. The primitive tent camping area in the rear of the campground is popular with scout and church groups.

The campground rents inner tubes, canoes and kayak’s and offers shuttle service. You are dropped off at the North entrance to the State Park and picked up at the South end. It is a leisurely two hour trip with the current. The scenery is outstanding. The best time for canoeing or kayaking is between Labor Day and Memorial Day when there are fewer people tubing on the river.

The small grocery store at the campground carries all of life’s necessities. The nearest Wal-Mart is in Lake City, a forty-five minute drive. The nearby towns of Branford and Fort White are small, but have restaurants and some small stores.

Nearby attractions include the Ichetucknee, Santa Fe and Suwannee Rivers, and O’leno State Park.

This is by far the best RV campground in the area. Our most recents visits were in early and late May, August and November, 2007, March, 2008,May and November, 2009.
